A decision should be taken on this. If the 7th Pay Commission is seen from the government side, then it becomes necessary to accept their demand for getting DA (Dearness Allowance) arrears!

What was the AICPI index in May?
There was a big jump in AICPI in the month of May 2022 and it was at 129, in April it was at 127.7. Any hike in DA is based on AICPI numbers. If the AICPI figures increase further in June, then there is a lot of possibility of increase in DA.
The new DA hike (DA Hike) will be implemented from 1 March 2023. Employees will also get arrears of difference in July and August! At present, DA is being increased by 34 percent to the Central Government employees. After the increase, DA will be 38 percent, on a basic salary of Rs 18,000, the annual DA will be Rs 8640.

1. Basic Pay – Rs 18,000
2. Current DA 34% – DA hiked by Rs 6120 per month
Calculation on Maximum Basic Pay: 7th Pay Commission
1. Basic Pay – Rs 56900
2. New DA at 38% – DA increased by Rs 21622 per month
3. Current DA 34 percent – 19346 per month
4. DA Increase – 21622-19346 = 2276 per month
5. Annual increase in DA – 2276 X12 = Rs 27,312
7th Pay Commission numbers are issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on the last working day of the month. The AICPI index numbers are based on data collected from 88 industrial centers across the country.
