The dearness allowance has been increased by 9 percent for the employees getting salary under the Sixth Pay Commission, while the DA of the employees getting salary under the Fifth Pay Commission will be increased by 15 percent.

Assuming a basic pay of Rs 18,000 under Level 1 of 1800 Grade Pay Scale, the DA would come to Rs 7,560. This will be an additional Rs 720 in hand per month. Specifically, at 38 per cent, the Dearness Allowance comes to around Rs 6,840.
